22 photos from the East Anglia children’s hospices Santa Claus run
What better way to get into the Christmas spirit while raising money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (everyone) than by participating in a fun run, jog or walk dressed as Santa Claus?
That’s what happened at Granta Park on Thursday, December 9, during the annual Santa Claus Run – supported by Business Park and Bidwells and sponsored by BioMed Realty.
The park was painted red as Santas raced around the 2.5 km course. The event, which started in 2014, did not take place last year (for obvious reasons) but this year 150 participants in Santa Claus costumes have registered. Fifteen companies have got involved and, although the exact amount raised is not yet known, organizers estimate it will amount to around £ 2,500.
Billie Race, fundraiser for each event, said: âIt was a fantastic day, full of festive fun. This is an established event in our calendar and it was nice to be back, having been forced to miss last year. Everyone involved was a great sport and got their minds on, sharing a laugh and a joke while running in their Santa outfits.
“We hope to have raised over £ 2,500 which is a fantastic result and will help us continue to support families and care for children and young people in Cambridgeshire and across East Anglia.”
