Brixham Charity Shop Appeal | Torbay Weekly

The Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) shop in Brixham has issued an urgent appeal for clothing donations.
The Fore Street charity shop has seen an increase in demand for good quality second-hand clothing and is asking people to consider donating items they no longer need.
Store manager Wendy Roberts said: “We had a very successful year last year and we are delighted to say that the support of the people of Brixham has continued in 2022.
“We still have some great clothes on sale, but now we’re running out of stock and we’re worried we won’t have enough to get through the summer.
“If people are doing a spring oil change, we would really appreciate any donation of good quality women’s, men’s and children’s clothing that they no longer wear. »
The shop also needs children’s toys and bric-a-brac, and donations can be dropped off during opening hours, Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
“We have donation bags at the store if needed and ask people to please call ahead if they are planning on taking a special trip or donating lots of stock,” Wendy added.
Everything sold in the store helps CHSW provide lifesaving care to area children with limited living conditions and their families. The charity’s three hospices – including Little Bridge House in Devon – rely almost entirely on voluntary donations.
“Every item donated and every item sold truly makes a difference,” Wendy said.
“And not only is it a great way to support such a worthy cause, recycling unnecessary clothes is also a great way to help the planet.”
