Bike ride in Rippey
Saturday February 5 from Perry to Rippey.
The 45th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey will take place on Saturday February 5th. The 24 mile trek from Perry to Rippey and back will take place regardless of the weather. On the day of registration and check-in at the Pattee Hotel will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The mass start will be at 10:00 a.m. from Willis Avenue and 2nd Street. BRR to the Proletariat
7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, February 5 at the Proletariat, Provisions of the common wealth.
The Proletariat will serve bottomless Bloody Marys from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 5 for $20. Breakfast burritos and pastries will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Common Wealth Provisions, with all proceeds going to Perry Youth Football. Des Moines Bacon Co pulled pork sandwiches with fries will be served for $7 starting at 11 a.m. while supplies last. Live music will take place on Saturday afternoon at the Prolétariat. Robbie Michael will perform from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Brian Congdon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Brad Seidenfeld from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Proletariat will be open until 2am.
5K Family Walk/Run in Winter Wonderland
9 a.m. Saturday, February 5 at the Granger Community Center, 2200 Walnut St.
The Granger Trails Committee will be hosting a Winter Wonderland 5K Family Walk/Run on February 5th at the Community Center. All proceeds will benefit the trails around Granger to connect the community. The event will include Kulinary Khaos breakfast, Vintage Road cafe, live DJ music and 5K run/walk starting at 9am. A raffle for prizes will begin at 9:30 a.m. with 1 ticket available for $5 and 3 tickets for $10. Activities, games and free prizes for kids will begin at 9:30 a.m. Draw winners will be announced at 11 a.m. and free games for kids will continue. All 5K Walk/Run participants will receive a Granger Trails beanie. Registration through the day of is $25 for adults, $20 for children under 12 and $15 for Run Club members. ADM Mother-Son Bowling Night
6-9 p.m. Saturday, February 5 at the Adel Family Fun Center.
Join the ADM After Prom for the official Mother/Son fundraising bowling night. There will be two shifts to choose from: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Those interested in attending should call the Adel Family Fun Center, 515 993-3350, to make couple or group reservations. Space is limited. Payment is due the day of the event at $25 for 2 and $10 for each additional guest. All ages are welcome.

ADM After Prom will be hosting a Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday February 5th. Registration will include entry to the dance, snacks and drinks, and photo opportunities throughout the evening. The dance is open to girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. The cost is $25 per couple and $10 for each additional child. Registration is open online.
Dallas County Democrats to caucus virtually

The difficult but important decision was made on January 23 by the Dallas County Democratic Executive Committee, part of the Dallas County Central Committee, to move the February 7 in-person caucus to a virtual caucus only in the best interest. public health and safety of all Dallas County and Iowa residents during the ongoing COVID pandemic. Dallas County Democrats will hold the Official Precinct 2022 Caucus virtually via a secure form that will be available to all registered Dallas County Democrats, pre-registration is encouraged by visiting www.dallascodems.org/caucus2022, by clicking on pre-registration and filling out a short form. Dallas County Democrats are encouraged to participate by pre-registering via the link through the website, they will receive the official link to the caucus form by email by 7 p.m. on February 7. Dallas County GOP Iowa Caucuses
6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7 in Dallas County.
The Dallas County GOP will host caucus night on Monday, February 7. The night begins with registration at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Find your caucus location at dallascountygop.org. During the evening, each precinct will elect a permanent president, secretary, DC Central Committee members and recommend changes to the party platform. From these precinct caucuses, elected members of the DC Central Committee will meet and elect the presidents, secretary, treasurer, and other Dallas County committees to help select and elect local, state, and nationals.

19th Annual Perry Chocolate Walk
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 12 at Perry Businesses.
A ticket for this self-guided tour of Perry’s shops becomes your passport to a free chocolate treat at each stop, while shopping for in-store specials along the way. Tickets are available online or in person, in advance or on the day.

Come join Woodward Fire and Rescue for their Valentine’s Day Cookies and Sauce Breakfast on Sunday, February 13 at the Woodward Social Center. Central Iowa Jazz Combo

The Perry Fine Arts Series will present The Central Iowa Jazz Combo at 2 p.m. on February 20 at Perry High School’s Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature experienced musicians from central Iowa playing jazz standards as well as jazz/funk and jazz/pop tunes. Perry Fine Arts concerts are free, donations are accepted and open to all. The Center for Performing Arts is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
