Kangana Ranaut Reveals She Was Sexually Harassed When She Was 6, ‘He Was Calling Us, Asking Us To Get Naked’
The Lock Upp reality series has been getting a lot of attention on social media lately and most of it has to do with the secrets the contestants reveal from time to time. In a recent episode of the show, fan-favorite inmate Munawar Faruqui was seen opening up about the traumatic sexual abuse he suffered as a child and everyone seemed visibly moved by his claims. . Host Kangana Ranaut also decided to join the conversation as she shared her own experience of child abuse.
For the uninitiated, the show debuted in February this year and has enjoyed record viewership numbers ever since. Its premise revolves around a group of controversial celebrities who must survive on minimal utilities while doing a bunch of tasks to protect themselves. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor and actor Karan Kundrra is also part of it as a jailer.
In Lock Upp’s Doomsday Special, Saisha Shinde was under threat of elimination when Munawar Faruqui decided to reveal one of his secrets to save her for the week. He shed light on how he was sexually abused by two of his relatives for five years at a time when he was too young to even understand what was going on. He further explained how he had to deal with them every day, which was one of the reasons he could never really talk about them in the past.
Host Kangana Ranaut was extremely touched by her story and added to the discussion by revealing how she was also the victim of sexual abuse.
“Everyone is touched inappropriately during their childhood. It’s something that even I witnessed. I was too young, and there was a guy in our hometown, who was a little older than me. So he used to touch me inappropriately… but I didn’t understand his intention at that time,” Kangana Ranaut said.
Giving some more details about what happened, Kangana Ranaut added: “This guy was exploring his sexuality so he was calling us, asking us to get naked and he was controlling us….we were about 6 years old.
