Kid Cudi goes viral in dress, sweater worn on ‘SNL’

Kid Cudi nodded to Kurt Cobain – and caused a stir on social media – with some bold and touching wardrobe choices on this week’s âSaturday Night Liveâ.
The rapper, 37, rocked a long floral spaghetti strap summer dress at one point, and a crumpled green cardigan at another, while performing songs from his latest album on the NBC sketch show.
Each was a clear tribute to the late Nirvana singer, who died by suicide at age 27 on April 5, 1994.
âKid Cudi pulling Kurt Cobain’s ultimate tribute on #SNL the week he died. @KidCudi all about love and suicide prevention and awareness !!! “, a fan tweeted.
The grunge legend wore a floral dress on the 1993 cover of the now defunct British magazine The Face a year before his death.
Cobain also memorably donned a dirty, cigarette-burnt green cardigan at Nirvana’s “MTV Unplugged” concert in 1993.
The sweater sold at auction for $ 334,000 in 2019.
Cudi wore the tribute sweater for her first performance of the evening, pairing it with a t-shirt that paid tribute to former “SNL” cast member Chris Farley, who died in 1997 of a drug overdose at 33 Years.
âKid Cudi tapped our subconscious well tonight, rocking a green mohair cardigan like Kurt. The Farley headshot t-shirt was also a good idea. #SNL â, a spectator written on twitter.
