Meet the Cork brothers behind a new leisurewear brand with a ‘Be Kind’ message

A family-owned online clothing business launched last week – it’s not only an enduring brand, it also sends a positive message with every purchase made.
Two brothers from Glanmire decided to find a way to bring out the best in people through clothing: sharing kindness.
Eric, co-founder of BeKind Apparel, told CorkBeo how they want to encourage people to find a way to be kind to each other.
“We want people to wear a brand that reflects their values - and we think launching this business will really have a positive impact on people.”
The idea came to Eric and his family during the pandemic when they noticed people sharing random acts of kindness.
“We’ve seen it with neighbors making sure to check in with each other, get groceries when needed, and even just wave through the window.”
Eric, an HSE worker in the mental health unit, said these small acts of kindness really have an impact on people’s mental health.
What happened next left Eric, his fiancé, and his brother pooling all of their savings to create a fun, yet enduring leisurewear brand.
“We want to promote how random acts of kindness can create such a positive impact on people.”
The 31-year-old said 5% of all his profits will go to a local charity.
BeKind Apparel’s goal is to provide an ethical and sustainable premium brand.
“Our local supplier ensures that all of our products fall under ethical considerations,” the HSE worker said.
“It’s cruelty-free and we also ensure that the workers who make these products work under reasonable working conditions and are paid fair wages.”
