Merritt Island store launches Artemis product line
For a Brevard County company, sharing the story of NASA’s Artemis program means exciting times — and they’re doing it, one hat or shirt at a time.

- Every item in the shop is space themed
- The store has added Artemis mission merchandise to the shelves, and owner Brenda Mulberry says it has been very popular
For nearly 40 years, Space Shirts on Merritt Island has sewn space-themed merchandise.
The boutique is a longtime dream of Brenda Mulberry, who says she still can’t believe she’s making this kind of life out of this world.
Much of what’s on sale at Space Shirts celebrates the history of the US space program, they don’t sell anything that doesn’t have a space theme.
“It’s the hat from the Artemis program, and they’re pretty popular,” Mulberry said, pointing to an item in the store.
Ten years ago, when the shuttle program was terminated, she feared that the space shirts would also be shut down.
But with the success of commercial space missions, and now the dawn of a new deep space mission from NASA, Mulberry says the sky is the limit.
“We can’t wait to get back to the moon,” she said.
Hats are popular, but Artemis shirts are quickly rolling down the assembly line, she said.
Once the logo is pressed, each shirt is sent through a 300 degree heater to seal the deal.
“It’s the Artemis logo in vintage print, people like nostalgic stuff and it’s pretty much flying off the shelf,” Mulberry said.
Artemis shirts are at the forefront of the store itself.
“Audiences love to see what we have new, so go to America,” she enthused.
Mulberry expects more Artemis-themed merchandise to be sold as the moon launch approaches.
