ATLANTA — The mother of a 6-month-old boy who was killed after being caught in the crossfire in a drive-by shooting says she wanted the killer caught so badly she “could taste it.”
Atlanta Police announced an arrest a few hours later on Tuesday.
Grayson Matthew Fleming-Gray was killed on Monday after someone shot at the car he was in with his mother on Anderson Avenue.
Channel 2’s Tom Jones returned to the scene on Tuesday where he caught up with the child’s mother, Kerri Gray.
She told Jones her son was a gift and called him a “rainbow baby” because she had him at 39 and Grayson was the light of her life.
“My son’s blood is on your hands,” Gray said was his message to the killers. “He was the collateral damage of a drive-by.”
Jones asked Gray to talk about when the shooting happened.

“It all happened so fast. I don’t know if he passed around us, if he went to our left. All I know is I was trying to park in that parking lot,” Gray said. “I went to see him after hearing some noise and he was slumped over, and the bullet had gone right through him.”
Gray said his son was very smart and was just learning to crawl.
“He was drinking from cups when he was 6 months old. Cups, regular cups. He was looking at a toy and analyzing it. He wasn’t just picking it up and playing with it,” Gray said. woke up this morning hoping to give my son his bottle. I now have to pick up her clothes and toys and figure out how to go on with my life without hearing her smile and laughter.
“He came out fighting, he came out with problems. He came out at five pounds and already had issues with his belly and everything and he made it up like that, because that’s what he does. He was a fighter,” Gray said of his son. “I can’t even get his blood off my hands.”
