Rondeau Kickboxing Holds Backpack For Adopted Children Across Rhode Island
JOHNSTON, RI, USA, May 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) was delighted with surprise when it received the phone call from Christina Rondeau , owner of Rondeau’s Kickboxing out of Johnston RI, telling them about the large number of backpacks lifted at his recent open house. Backpacks are to be distributed to children in foster care throughout Rhode Island.
When children enter foster care, they usually leave their homes with only clothes on their backs and lose all of their belongings. To give this child a possession of their own, the backpacks were donated by members of Rondeau’s Kickboxing, as well as family and friends in the community. Knowing that every kid who gets a backpack can go to school and not feel different and stand out from the rest of the kids is really a big deal. The Rondeau Kickboxing family also added a special touch to each backpack with a message of positivity attached to each one.
Jane Ahlus, DCYF Licensing Supervisor, who has worked for DCYF for over 24 years, was in tears as she expressed her gratitude for the donation. “I am grateful from the bottom of my heart! It is simply wonderful! It’s so kind of you to do this and I LOVE the messages of positivity, it’s going to mean so much to our kids because it’s JUST what they need. So thank you very much for your generosity and kindness as we need a little kindness in this world! Thank you and God bless you ”
Rondeau Kickboxing plans its next training from August 1 to August 15. The disc will be a back-to-school backpack program. Each backpack will include back-to-school essentials such as pens, pencils, tissues, disinfectant, pencils and notebooks.
Those interested in making a donation can bring items to Rondeau’s Kickboxing sites in Johnston. 1408 Atwood Ave. or 609 Killingly St.
