At the age of 16, Teyana Taylor burst onto the scene as one of fashion’s “it girls”. Whether she rocks a tomboy look or a dress with a few kicks, her eclectic ensembles have helped make her one of pop culture’s most iconic fashionistas.

Now, as a 31-year-old singer, dancer and entrepreneur, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Her six-year-old daughter Junie, born Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., is now following in her mother’s fashion footsteps with their JuJuBeez clothing line.

In collaboration with fashion brand breeder Thmbl, the line offers matching adult and children’s sportswear sets that parents can match their children to.

taylor said WWD, “For Junie and I, it was all about effortless style – simple pieces that we could incorporate into our everyday lives. We play with lots of neutrals that fit my aesthetic perfectly, alongside bold graphic prints. Our first collection offers active and loungewear styles that will allow you to adopt the outfit of the day and define the trends of the hallway.

Offering comfy pieces like hoodies, jackets, leggings, shorts and bucket hats in staple colors like brown, beige, gray and a cool blue, the collection also expands with items graphic print featuring the JuJuBeez logo, with shaded colors and stripes.

“I love the collision of masculine and feminine styles in my own wardrobe and wanted to represent that in this mama-and-mini collection,” the ‘Rose in Harlem’ singer added. “I’ve always wanted to create a world for Junie that shows there are no limits, fear isn’t real, and you can do whatever you dream of. It’s one of the many steps in an effort to change the narrative that is placed on women growing up and being told what they can and cannot do I want to change that narrative and I will – anything is possible.

The mom-daughter brand JuJuBeez is now available. The first collection ranges in price ($20 to $129) and can be purchased on its website.
